Although I informed you of this in my previous post, I’ll do it again. My name is S. E. Bussard, and I am a fiction author, photographer, and graphic artist. However, I know that this and my About page is hardly a sufficient amount of information for you to feel like you know a lot about me, at least on a personal level.
If you took a look at my picture in my About page, you probably assumed that I’m on the younger side. The popular assumption is that I’m in college, and that I’m already considered an adult by the world’s standards. However the only assumption that is right, is that I’m on the younger side. By younger, I mean a junior in high school. Except, I don’t attend a public or private school. I’m a homeschooler currently enrolled with Classical Conversations in Challenge III. In the past four years, I have studied Latin, Art (Modern, Renaissance, Impressionism, etc.), Rhetoric (Logic), American & British Literature, Natural Science & Biology, Team Policy & Lincoln/Douglas Debate, Geography, and many other subjects/topics. Currently in my studies, I am still learning Latin, Lincoln/Douglas Debate, and Rhetoric. In addition to these subjects, I’ve added Shakespeare & Poetry, Philosophy, American History, and Chemistry. I have learned so much throughout my high school years so far.
Currently, I’m living in South West Florida where it’s warm all year round (except for the rare cold spells), where the sun is shining when it’s not raining, and where I love to sit outside watching the animals and listening to the sounds all around me. I don’t live by the beach but close enough that if I wanted to go, I could. However, not living by the golden, sandy beaches is probably one of the reasons why I don’t go to the beach as much as I did in the past. When I do go, it’s the best thing. I love the feel of the rough, gritty sand. I don’t think Darth Vader would agree with me. (Yes, I’m a big Star Wars fan.) Whether the water is cool or warm, I love to stand and watch it lap over my feet. The only thing I would have to say that I strongly dislike about the beach is when I burn. Thankfully I tan quickly, which is awesome. However, you wouldn’t want to see me now because I look like a porcelain doll, which is sad only because I live in a state that is practically in a perpetual state of summer. *Making a mental note to get myself to the beach more often.*
You might be asking yourself, ‘What does she do everyday, besides not go to the beach?’ Well, I’m glad you asked. 😉 I’m one of those people who have many interests. My main interests are my jobs which are writing and photography/graphic art. My hobbies include singing, acting, dancing, playing my violin, reading (You’ll soon learn that I LOVE books. Hence the reason why I’m an author.), watching Sherlock and Doctor Who on repeat, and cosplaying. I’ve been singing with my church’s worship team for a year now. Throughout the past year, I have grown so much. I went from being soft and timid to being more confident, comfortable, and louder. My acting experience is mostly comprised of church plays and speech interpretations. However, I do want to audition for more roles in plays and musicals. (Oh yeah, I’m also a big musical theatre geek.) I’ve had ten years of dance experience in many styles ranging from ballet to tap to contemporary/modern. During those years, I traveled along the east coast competing in many dance competitions and earning multiple awards from my solo and group dances. Currently, I’m am not furthering my experience. However, I am trying to get into Irish dancing. In regards to my violin, I am still in the beginning stages and have loved every minute of it. I have read many books throughout my life. Two of my favorite authors (Because you can’t just pick one) are Melanie Dickerson and Marissa Meyer. Both of their books series are amazingly written, and are what inspired me to start writing. I would definitely recommend reading their books if you haven’t already. When it comes to TV shows, Sherlock and Doctor Who take first and second place in my point of view. The ones that take close third and fourth are Victoria and NCIS. You should know that I love everything British, and if I had the chance to move to England one day, I probably would. My final hobby, being cosplay, is a fairly new one for me. I’ve only done one so far, which was Belle from Disney’s live action Beauty and the Beast. My next project is going to be Rapunzel from Tangled, which I’m really excited about. While I’m working on that, I plan on doing smaller cosplays such as Abby from NCIS, Molly Hooper from Sherlock, Clara Oswald from Doctor Who, and a few others. I’m a very artsy person, so cosplaying is definitely one of the many areas that I can use my abilities and skills.
Now you know quite a bit about me and my personality. As the weeks go by and I upload more posts, you will continue to learn more about my life and interesting quirks. Until then, I hope you have a great rest of the week and I can’t wait to tell you guys more next week. BYE!
