It’s a new year, which means that the theatres will soon be filling up with new films. Some will be hits and others will be flops. Despite this, there are some films this year that I can not wait to see. So without further or do, here are the six films that I’m excited for.

Avengers: Endgame
Ever since I saw Infinity War last year, I have been on the edge of my seat in anticipation for how this decade long storyline will end and how all our questions will be answered. Who will die? Who will survive? Concerning those who disappeared after the snap, will they return or not? How will Captain Marvel play into all of this? All in all, I don’t know what to expect when Endgame releases into theatres, but I hope that I will not be let down. Avengers Endgame is set to release on April 26th.

Spiderman: Far From Home
Whenever someone asks me who my favorite Marvel superhero is, my answer is always Spiderman. When Spiderman: Homecoming released two years ago, I was very excited to see him among the MCU films and intrigued about how Tom Holland would portray my favorite hero. Thankfully, I was presently surprised and Tom quickly became my favorite to portray Spiderman. And so when I heard that a second Spiderman film was going to be released, I was very excited yet curious because of how Avengers: Infinity War ended. Will this film take place before Infinity War or after? This question will only be revealed after Avengers: Endgame, which is all the more reason to why I am looking forward that movie also. Whether or not it takes place before or after, I can’t wait until Far From Home hits the theatres. Spiderman: Far From Home is set to release on July 5th.

Aladdin
I am a major Disney fan. Every since I can remember, I have been watching Disney movies. From Snow White and the Seven Dwarves to Cocoa (which is the last of the newest Disney movies that I have watched), the magic that is Disney has filled many of my hours. When Disney started re-making their classic films into live action movies, I was excited to see which ones of my favorite will hit the big screen in a new, revised way. I absolutely loved Maleficent, Cinderella, and Beauty and the Beast. When it was announced that Aladdin was going to be re-made, I was thrilled to see how one of my favorites would be translated into a live action film. I hope that this new version will stay true to the original, and I hope it will become one of my favorites. Aladdin is set to release on May 24th.

The Lion King
This is yet another classic Disney movie that is being transformed into a live action film. However when I heard that it was happening, I was very intrigued. I wondered, how can it be classified as a live action film if there are no people to be translated from the original? Are they going to add some human interaction into the movie? If this is the case, will the movie stay true to the original? Despite these questions, I am very excited to see how it all plays out. The Lion King is set to release on July 19th.

Downton Abbey
If you know me personally or have paid close attention to some of my posts, you will know that I love everything British. Because of this, I absolutely love the show Downton Abbey. Since it ended, the world has been too long without the beloved Crawley family. While the plot has not yet been revealed, I can not wait until this movie is released. I’m excited to follow everyone through whatever ups and down the film will present us with. Downton Abbey is set to release on September 13th (UK).

Star Wars: Episode IX
A HUGE Star Wars fan I am. ? I have watched every Star Wars film and almost all of the television shows that have been released so far. When it comes to which films are the best, nothing can beat the original three. The prequels were pretty good, and I love the newest two. Regarding this final installment, I have so many questions that I hope will be answered. Are Rey’s parents really who they were/are said to be? Will there be a redemption arc for Kylo? Is Luke really gone? How will Leia be incorporated, since Carrie Fischer sadly passed away before filming could begin for this last film? I have so many other questions, but I won’t bore you with my long list. With no trailer or plot released, we have no idea what we should expect. All in all, I can’t wait to see how this newest trilogy will end. Star Wars: Episode IX is set to release on December 20th.

That’s all, folks! Thanks for reading about my top anticipated films of 2019. So long for now!
